CAREER Transition COnsultant

Summary

Julia Avitabile
My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.                             Maya Angelou
I am a people person and I love my job! I have extensive experience in the UK and in the US creating and delivering tailor-made career transition programs for groups and individuals. Check out my LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/juliaavitabile

I have worked with candidates across a myriad of industries from the factory floor through to C-suite executives, advising on how to create a career strategy and a tool box of skills they can utilize during their career move, whatever that may be. That includes moving into a similar role, a new career, a business start-up, and retirement.

I meet each person where they are mentally and emotionally, giving guidance, empathy, and support. I bring a positive energy to each interaction, motivating candidates to explore options and move forward. I recognize that job transition requires a lot of energy and a positive attitude, as well as resilience and stamina to keep going day after day.

On a personal note, I am also a voice over artist, hence the photo, however I'm taking a break from this while I'm living in the UK as I am minus my home studio.

When I'm not working, you'll find me working out, gardening, travelling, acting and singing!

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Career Coaching in the 21st Century
,
Career Planning - Who does that?

In my experience most people are rather passive when it comes to planning their careers and find themselves in a job they can tolerate but one they don't necessarily enjoy. Being let go from an employer oftentimes is the trigger that will get people thinking about their future. Life is short, do what you want. Yes we all have bills and commitments, I recognize that, however take a step back and evaluate your career to date and then project forward. What parts of your career did you really enjoy? Can you get back to that or incorporate that into your future career? It may not happen straight away, however through careful planning, you can make it happen.

Consider this: If I gave you $2M, you'd think carefully about how you'd invest it, right? Well now think about your career over your lifetime and how much money you might earn. Isn't that worth investing in?
What Makes Me Unique?

I started working in my home country of New Zealand, however I am fortunate to have experience as a career coach both in the US and the UK, and I have worked with people from many different countries, cultures, industries, and jobs.
I have also created and sold programs to clients, oftentimes acting as a key account manager or a project manager.
